About

The Provost is the chief academic officer and chief operations officer of the university. All of the vice presidents and deans report through the provost. The budgets of these units flow through the Office of the Provost. The provost chairs the University Senate Fiscal Advisory Committee to the President (FACP), the Capital Budget and Space Allocation committee (CBSAC), and the Strategic Planning Subcommittee.

The provost also has oversight responsibility for issues associated with the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty and for the University’s promotion and tenure process. Enrollment management, that includes Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, International Student & Scholars, and Student Advisement Center, is the purview of the Associate Provost for Academic Programs. Information systems, including academic and administrative computing, are unified under an Associate Provost for Information Systems & Technology. International programs and study abroad are coordinated under an Associate Provost for International Affairs. Institutional effectiveness and assessment of learning outcomes, academic programs, and administrative support units are the purview of the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness.
