DEADLINE EXTENDED – Call for Applications: Mentoring Leader and Internal Program Evaluator Positions with ADVANCE-IMPACT at Georgia State
The ADVANCE-IMPACT team is seeking Georgia State University faculty or staff members to fulfill two exciting opportunities in support of women faculty in STEM.
The application deadline has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18.
The goal of the $1 million NSF ADVANCE-IMPACT (Intersectionality and Mentoring in the Professoriate for Advancement, Community and Transformation) grant is to adapt and implement programs and initiatives at the university aimed at increasing the number of women, particularly women from underrepresented minority (URM) backgrounds, who are recruited, promoted, and retained in STEM tenure track positions and in leadership positions at GSU. These initiatives were developed and are being implemented in partnership with Florida International University (FIU).

LEADER: MENTORING
Leader: Mentoring
The leader of ADVANCE-IMPACT’s mentoring Aim will oversee implementation of mentoring initiatives for early, mid- and later career faculty at Georgia State.
This individual will hold primary responsibility for all the mentoring activities supported by the ADVANCE-IMPACT grant including the:
- Launch Committees for newly hired faculty
- Advancement and Initiatives for Mid-Career Support (AIMS) program
- Faculty Networks

The leader of the mentoring initiatives will report to the Principal Investigator and will work closely with the Office of Faculty Affairs, other Aim leaders, and the grant evaluators. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordination, implementation, and oversight of the Launch Committees within the College of Arts and Sciences
- Coordination, implementation, and oversight of the AIMS program (e.g., workshop on career after tenure, programming on transitions to leadership)
- Assisting with the development of appropriate internal evaluation assessments of all mentoring initiatives
- Partnering with the Office of Faculty Affairs to develop Faculty Mentoring Networks
This position will be remunerated by course release, summer salary, or stipend, depending on the candidate’s circumstances.

INTERNAL PROGRAM EVALUATOR
Internal Program Evaluator
The internal evaluator will hold primary responsibility for evaluating all activities supported by the ADVANCE-IMPACT grant including the:
- Strategies and Effective Approaches for Recruitment and Comprehensive Hiring (SEARCH)
- Bystander Leadership Program
- Mentoring and Faculty Development Activities
- Review of GSU Policies and Best Practices.
The internal evaluator will report to the Principal Investigator and will work closely with Aim leaders and the external evaluator. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating collection and reporting of institutional data on an annual basis
- Tracking all activities, including number of workshops/trainees, number of participants, and fidelity of content
- Evaluation of all workshops and trainings, including instrument development and implementation of pre/post/post-post surveys
- Seeking IRB approval for all human subjects-related activities
This position will be remunerated by course release, summer salary, or stipend, depending the candidate’s circumstances.
