Virtual Exchange Call for Proposals, 2024-25: Office of International Initiatives and the Atlanta Global Studies Center
The Office of International Initiatives (OII) and the Atlanta Global Studies Center (AGSC) invite proposals from Georgia State’s full-time faculty for Virtual Exchange activities, including both new faculty who plan to implement VE for the first time and veteran faculty who wish to revamp existing courses for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Virtual Exchange is an exciting interactive teaching and learning paradigm that connects students with peers at international universities to work collaboratively online through the internet.
Types of virtual exchange include:
- Single course assignments
- Peer review
- Cooperative learning
- Online discussions
- Project-based learning
- Video conferencing
For students, virtual exchange:
- Increases global competency and engagement
- Promotes digital literacy
- Fosters cultural appreciation and understanding
- Develops professional skills
- Facilitates intercultural collaboration and communication
- Offers the opportunity to earn an International Virtual Exchange Badge
For faculty, virtual exchange:
- Offers an economical way to bring in content and practicing experts
- Builds research and teaching networks at international institutions
- Creates professional development opportunities
- Globalizes curricula
