Clark was recognized by the university at its 109th commencement exercises in May, earning a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration.
While attending Georgia State, Clark held many leadership roles. She was the chapter president of the Omicron Gamma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., while additionally serving as council president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council at Georgia State. In these roles, Clark demonstrated passion not only for Sigma Gamma Rho, but for the overall success of fraternity and sorority life.
Clark also served as president of the Residence Hall Association, an active member of the Dance Ensemble and an active member of Eta Sigma Delta Hospitality Honor Society.
Clark is extremely knowledgeable about Georgia State and activities around campus. She served on the Spirit and Traditions committees of both the Spotlight Programs Board and the Residence Hall Association. Clark has also been a tour guide for GSU’s Welcome Center and has worked in University Advancement.
Through various leadership roles and involvement, Clark connected to countless students and has used those contacts to promote Panther pride and set a strong example for future student leaders at Georgia State. Following graduation, she plans to pursue community engagement work with nonprofits that support youth in metro Atlanta. Clark also plans to travel to all 50 states in the next few years.
Nell Hamilton Trotter, the inspiration for the award, was a loyal member of the Georgia State University community for nearly 40 years. She was the first dean of women at Georgia State and served for many years as a dedicated faculty member. Dean Trotter personified the ideal qualities students, particularly student leaders, are expected to emulate.
