On Dec. 4, 2024, Senior Associate Provost for Academic Affairs Michael Galchinsky announced two significant updates to the leadership of the division.

Dr. John Duffield, the university’s Director of Academic Program Review, will retire at the end of December 2024 after an exemplary 22-year tenure at Georgia State.

Dr. Michelle Brattain, a Professor of History, has been appointed as the inaugural Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs effective January 2025.

Corrie Fountain Appointed Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs

Provost Parsons-Pollard announced the news to campus on Jan. 30, 2023:

“I am excited to announce that Corrie Fountain has been appointed as Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs effective Feb. 1.

In the past 13 months, she has proven to be a highly effective and impactful leader, vigorously expanding professional development and leadership opportunities for faculty and staff. In addition to leading the office, she has enhanced Georgia State’s efforts to advance faculty recruitment, retention, engagement, and belonging.”

A Message from the Interim Provost: Sally Wallace to Step Down as Dean of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies

Interim Provost Nicolle Parsons-Pollard has announced that Sally Wallace, Dean of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, will step down from her position effective Jan. 17, 2023.

An interim dean will be named in the coming weeks and a national search started in the spring semester.
