Two Georgia State Online Programs Ranked in Top 10 in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

In its 2025 edition of Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, U.S. News & World Report ranked Georgia State’s online bachelor’s in psychology No. 6 and the online Bachelor of Business Administration No. 8 in the nation.

This is the first year both programs have been ranked by the organization, which chose factors that weigh how online programs are delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time to all types of students.

In addition, several of Georgia State’s online graduate programs showed strong progress in the latest rankings, reflecting the university’s dedication to expanding access and enhancing quality across disciplines.

Georgia State Ranked No. 1 Public University for Undergraduate Teaching for Fifth Year in a Row

In its 2025 edition of Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Georgia State University as the top public university for Undergraduate Teaching for the fifth straight year, and it continues to rank the institution among the Most Innovative.

Georgia State retained its position as top among public institutions for Undergraduate Teaching for the fifth year in a row, a recognition of faculty and administrators’ strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students in a high-quality manner. And for the past decade and counting, Georgia State has been among the top five Most Innovative institutions in the country.

Georgia State Online Graduate Programs Ranked Among Best by U.S. News

Three graduate programs at Georgia State University have been ranked among the best online programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

The U.S. News 2023 Best Online Programs rankings assessed more than 1,800 graduate and undergraduate programs offered online by regionally accredited institutions — the highest number of degree programs evaluated in the online rankings’ 11-year history.

Georgia State’s College of Education & Human Development was recognized with two highly placed rankings: a tie at No. 19 in the category of Best Online Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction Programs and a tie at No. 69 in the Best Online Master’s in Education Programs category.

Georgia State University is once again ranked the No. 2 most innovative university in the country and No. 1 public university for best undergraduate teaching in the 2023 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges.

Georgia State retained its position in both categories, having ranked No. 2 for innovation and first among public institutions in undergraduate teaching in the 2022 survey. The innovation and undergraduate teaching rankings are based on a survey of presidents, provosts and admissions deans at colleges and universities across the country.

Georgia State Near Top in Innovation and Teaching, In Top 10 for Social Mobility in U.S. News & World Report 2021 Survey

Georgia State University is ranked the third most innovative university in the nation and third for its commitment to undergraduate teaching in the 2021 Best Colleges edition of U.S. News & World Report magazine.

Georgia State ranked first among public universities in the Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching category. It’s the third year in a row the university has been ranked in the top three among national universities for its “unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.”

The innovation and undergraduate teaching rankings are based on a survey of presidents, provosts and admissions deans at colleges and universities across the country. Georgia State also ranked highly in the Social Mobility and Academic Programs to Look For categories.
